Fifth Third Information Technology is comprised of several areas including: Commercial IT, Consumer IT, Payments IT, Infrastructure IT, Enterprise and Corporate Applications as well as IT Security and Risk.
As part of the applications development discipline, manages system analysis and application development of strategic IT projects following the agile methodology. This includes full systems development life cycle support of front end, responsive web applications. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages production environment for applications including change management, issue resolution, after-hours support and disaster recovery.
Interprets business issues and adapts work priorities in own area.
Recommends and reinforces the technical direction of the group.
Ensures adoption of enterprise and department processes and procedures. Leads the evolution of department policies to improve effectiveness.
Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other teams. Ensures project completion on time and within budget.
Manages budget for own area and allocates resources accordingly.
Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and providing challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Requires 3-4 years of prior management/leadership experience and 4-6 years of prior technical experience.
Has in-depth expertise in front-end web application development and supporting technologies.
Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Experience developing or leading the development of responsive front-end web applications for a large public customer base.
Knowledge of emerging trends in front-end web application development techniques, frameworks, and best practices.
