Fifth Third Information Technology is comprised of several areas including: Commercial IT, Consumer IT, Payments IT, Infrastructure IT, Enterprise and Corporate Applications as well as IT Security and Risk.

Position Overview:

The candidate will be a member of the Information Protection team within the Information Security Division at Fifth Third Bank. The Lead Information Protection Engineer will serve as a key individual in Information Protection (Data LossPrevention,Cryptography, Information Assurance, etc.) and lead a variety of strategic, operational and tactical activities around the design, deployment, future expansion and enablement of information protection solutions and capabilities at Fifth ThirdBank. Thisrole will help drive a culture of information protection and help reduce organizational data loss risk through the advancement of strategic initiatives and the performance of related Information Protection program and operational activities.

Job Description (Duties/ responsibilities)

. Reviews policies, standards and procedures pertaining to information protection and translates to technical controls

. Maps technical capabilities to business requirements on protecting critical assets

. Assists in the investigation of escalated security incidents

. Must be able to work collaboratively with other lines of business to advocate information security solutions and requirements

. Ability to support and liaise with business process owners to incorporate information protection products/solutions and provisions into their processes.

. Constantly communicates and mentors with business users on the best methods of protecting data in transit and at rest

. Assist in the development and refinement of key data protection metrics and reporting (KRIs, KPIs, etc.)

. Assist with periodic sensitive data discovery exercises

. Coordinate responses to customer and other key LOB data protection inquiries and/or related questionnaires.

. Partner with Information Security Architecture in researching emerging data protection technologies and architecture standards to stay abreast of current industry trends.

. Play an active role on strategic initiatives and ensure that critical data privacy and security risks are being adequately addressed.

. Support the resolution of Internal Audit, Compliance, and/or Risk Management related issues that could impact the confidentiality, availability or integrity of information.

. Support other key information security program elements in compliance with relevant privacy and/or security laws and internal policies and standards

Qualifications

. 3-5 years of overall IT experience with a background in security engineering, information protection, information lifecycle management, data loss prevention or the supporting of these security solutions.

. Bachelor's degree in the field of information systems, computer science, cyber security or related field.

. Background and expertise in any or all of the following technology stacks preferred: Data Loss Prevention, Data Classification, Information/Digital Rights Management, SIEM, Encryption, CASB

. Experience in a large-scale organization or technology environment preferred.

. General understanding of the information lifecycle, including data transfer, data in-use and data at rest.

. Demonstrated ability to investigate and learn new technologies and products.

. Must hold or be willing to pursue relevant information security, data privacy, and/or information protection related certifications, such as CISSP, CIPT, or equivalents.

. Understanding of privacy and data security laws/regulations (domestic & international) and industry best practices or frameworks is preferred (e.g. HIPAA, GLBA, PCI-DSS, FFIEC, NIST, GAPP).

. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate security, information protection, DLP- related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
