Mortgage Banking at Fifth Third Bank encompasses three sales channels # Retail, Direct and Correspondent. It also includes the operations side, with three major Fulfillment Centers in Cincinnati, Ohio; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Chicago, Illinois. We offer many different mortgage loan options, and our customers look to us when they are thinking about buying a new home, building their dream home, refinancing their existing home, or exploring options for downsizing. Additionally, the Fifth Third partners with the Community College Foundation to bring the Financial Empowerment eBus to our communities. This bus is retrofitted as a mobile classroom that hits the streets to provide financial education on important topics including homeownership. We also play a key role in supporting homeownership by offering refinancing and modification opportunities.

GENERAL FUNCTION: A Quality Review Analyst works under minimal supervision, performing

routine reviews of pending workout decisions to ensure proper underwriting and structuring in compliance with Bank, Insurer and Investor guidelines, regulations, documentation and procedure standards.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating

concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Consistently operating within the Banks risk appetite, achieves results

by identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As assigned, reviews workouts to confirm that Loss Mitigation processes have been

performed in accordance with specific Bank, Insurer and Investor guidelines.

  • Analyze the borrower's financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, etc

  • Reviews and analyzes title searches, asset searches, and customer records.* Documents work performed; records deficiencies discovered throughout the course of a review

according to applicable QR checklists, plan and procedure(s).

  • Utilizes applicable quality review logs for reporting purposes.

  • May help determine the potential cause(s) of any deficiency noted throughout the review of a file.

  • Prepares a clear, concise report of findings for QR Management.

  • Collaborates with other quality review and default servicing personnel.

  • May interact with more senior-level personnel to meet business needs.

  • Ensure applicable systems are properly updated for bank records.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of training and experience in related field.

  • Minimum one-year advanced level mortgage banking experience in assigned quality control area,

such as default or servicing.

  • Knowledge of the fundamental concepts related to mortgage default and the ability to apply

that knowledge in an review / oversight function.

  • Knowledge of the Bank's, Investor's and Insurers, income and expense calculation requirements.

  • Knowledge in the structure of permanent Loss Mitigation workouts.

  • Knowledge of documents used by the bank in the servicing of FHLMC, FNMA, Bank Owned, Private Investor, FHA, VA , USDA loans.

  • Computer literate with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access

(or equivalent database reporting programs).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently with a low margin of error.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
