Central Operations is the home of over 2,300 employees who handle Fifth Third Bank's back-office functions and Contact Center services for nearly six million customers. Our goal is to operate as an efficient, behind-the-scenes machine to allow Fifth Third Bank transactions to be seamlessly executed for our affiliates and customers.

GENERAL FUNCTION: In a very high-risk area of Securities Services, under minimal direction, reviews and processes corporate action events in accordance with established procedures and deadlines with a high level of accuracy. Ensures maintenance ofdetails/data related to transactions within the AMTrust accounting system and monitors/resolves aged items. Adheres to strict internal department procedures and deadlines to ensure regulatory compliance and exemplary customer service.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank#s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.


  • Processing and Auditing Events - 60% of time:

o Maintain minimal exposure to the bank in area with very large loss and liability potential by processing with the highest levels of accuracy.

o Accurately post data/information on AMTrust pertaining to corporate actions in process, including available tax information, with a clear understanding of the cost basis and/or tax lot implications to the client and client statement.

o Balance and reconcile cash balances and positions for corporate action activity.

o Demonstrate accuracy and timeliness in work as evidenced through audits by supervisor and/or workflow coordinator.

o Maintain no aged items in internal house or DDA accounts.

o Demonstrate a working knowledge of all functions within the corporate actions area to serve as backup for teammates when needed.

o Audit all actions to ensure cost basis, shares, and cash correctly posted to client accounts and ensure dual sign-off.

  • Identification and Notification of Events -25% of time:

o Ensure internal procedures are accurately followed for each corporate action as well as ensure dual sign-off for corporate action notices is obtained in all cases.

o Prepare client notifications and stay current with revisions and updates as they are announced.

o Ensure delivery of corporate action notices is efficient and complies with department guidelines.

o Must demonstrate a clear understanding of corporate action terms in order to be able to create notice and respond to inquiries.

  • Other Activities:

o Communicate with and resolve issues for transfer agents, administrators and/or outside custodians with accuracy and professionalism, bringing concerns to supervisor's attention timely and appropriately.

o Assist with special research and/or projects as assigned by supervisor or workflow coordinator.

o Perform additional duties and/or assist with workload in other areas as assigned by supervisor or workflow coordinator.

o Suggest revisions to processes as needed to accommodate changing environment.



  • Bachelor#s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or progress towards degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum one (1) year securities processing and/or industry experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of DTC and/or Federal reserve systems are a plus.

  • Knowledge of cash/securities clearance processing preferred.

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Possess professional customer service skills.

  • Strong mathematical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in stressful environment and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to multi-task with high attention to detail.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Proficiency in MSExcel, MSWord.
