GENERAL FUNCTION: Lead a team of up to 10 Small Business Bankers (SBBs) that work with small to medium sized businesses. Responsible for new business development while adhering to the Bank's policies and procedures. The sales manager will helpteammembers develop consultative selling skills, calling rhythms, credit acumen, and overall successful playbook behaviors. Coaches SBBs to manage and deepen existing portfolio of bank customers along with prospecting for new relationship acquisition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees a number of SBB's in an assigned market to ensure adherence to corporate policy, facilitate credit requests, provide support and direction in the cross selling effort.

  • Facilitate joint calling efforts with assigned SBBs and assigned Financial Center Managers to foster new business and cross-selling opportunities.

  • Identify deepening opportunities for the Bank's services and assist assigned SBBs to meet/exceed goals for production, fee income, loan/deposit growth and calls.

  • Work with Small Business Bankers to develop small business sales, support and customer service skills.

  • Monitor compliance issues, and ensure that all Small Business Bankers attend required meetings and are complying with state and federal regulation, as well as policies and procedures set by the bank.

  • Monitor quality levels of calling efforts/activity and progress to ensure adherence to standards.

  • Attend and observe Small Business Banker sales calls and provide feedback and coaching to improve performance.

  • Discuss and educate on product/system updates to sales team.

  • Attend and participate in all Business Banking meetings as required by management.

  • Actively participate in ongoing efforts to continually improve customer service for both internal and external customers.

  • Participate in various community affairs and projects to promote the image of the Bank.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; develop employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; develop appropriate talentpoolto ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognize and reward employees for accomplishments.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • College degree providing strong business acumen preferred.

  • Minimum 5 # 7 years management experience including successful team leadership and development in a sales environment.

  • Proven ability to have successfully coached and directed team in a multi site scenario preferred.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of networking and prospecting sales techniques having a minimum of 3 years actual implementation.

  • Minimum 5 years small business banking experience.

  • Ability to build upon product knowledge and pass knowledge on to others to broaden team scope of sales abilities and enhance customer experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of business sales cycles (<$5MM in revenue).

  • Demonstrated teamwork and customer service skills.

  • Ability to analyze policies, procedures, and guidelines in a way that maximizes productivity but protects the level of risk desired.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
