Leveraged Finance originates and structures bank debt supporting acquisition or recapitalization transactions, often involving private equity sponsors.
The Associate of Leveraged Finance supports the leading team of dedicated leveraged finance professionals on behalf of Fifth Third Bank. The Associate will be part of a team that is responsible for pitching, structuring,andexecutingleveragedtransactionsacross the entire Fifth Third Commercial Bank platform.

Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank#s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The team will be responsible for pitching, structuring, underwriting and executing leverage finance transactions to targeted Fifth Third clients
Support day-to-day coverage, origination, and transaction management responsibilities for covered Sponsors
Support business development intiatives
Establish strong working partnerships and routines with key internal partners
Ability to support multiple financing and advisory / M&A opportunities
May include indirect supervision and direction of the day-to-day activities of junior LF professionals
May provide employee performance feedback
Minimum Knowledge & Skills Required
3+ years Leveraged Finance, Private Equity, Investment Banking or related financial services
Knowledge of private equity, capital markets, merger and acquisition structures, and understanding / experience with credit analysis
Knowledge of credit policies, procedures, and terminology
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience in originating and executing complex financial transactions is a plus
Bachelor's degree required (MBA a plus), ideally with concentration in Business, Finance or Accounting
FINRA Series 7 and 63 certifications and formal credit training a plus
