GENERAL FUNCTION:

This position represents an opportunity to be the transformational leader of our IT QA organization. We are taking our first steps in a journey to embrace Agile development. As the Quality Assurance Architect, you will partner with the QA leadership team to recommend and implement changes to our automation, tools, processes and practices which will modernize our team and empower us to succeed in an Agile environment. After researching our needs, along with industry automation tools and techniques, you will be empowered with broad discretion in forging the forward looking strategy for our discipline. You will also be critical in communicating and building support across the IT organization for the cultural change required in implementing these improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for rationalizing our automation strategy while considering multiple variables (fit for purpose, cost, risk, team coding capabilities, etc.). This strategy may include proprietary tools (e.g. HP UFT, etc.) and open source (Selenium, Appium, etc.)

  • Responsible for influencing agile team structures to account for new processes and incremental skills set requirements (e.g. when SDET is needed)

  • Development of new QA processes that align with Agile methodology and stays true to our risk and compliance standards

  • Influence positive outcomes in negotiating QA process and cost structure changes. Must be effective in influencing/managing up, down and vertically across the organization

  • Responsible for the design, definition and delivery of education needs supporting the deployment of QA processes & methods

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

The following role qualifications are provided as examples of the type of knowledge and skills necessary to successfully perform in the role of Quality Assurance Architect.   • Multiple years of experience in IT/Software Quality Assurance & SDLC methodologies

  • Demonstrated track record of change leadership

  • Familiarity with industry tools and concepts (e.g. unit testing, services virtualization, continuous integration, BDD, DevOps, HP UFT, Selenium, mobile/digital testing, cross browser/platform testing, performance testing, Test Data Management, Services/API testing, Jira, Jenkins, etc.)

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience (including leadership experience) in a corporate environment, Financial industry a plus

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, related academic field or equivalent experience

  • Must demonstrate a high degree of energy, edge & execution
